Chef Amy West was born and raised in Austin, TX and attended Northwest Culinary Academy in Vancouver, BC, educated in traditional French Cuisine and specializing in international cooking. Amy staged at The French Laundry in Younteville, CA; the infamous three-Michelin star French and Californian restaurant.
After a decade on the West Coast, cooking in top restaurants, catering the most prestigious weddings and private events for Hollywood’s A-list celebrities, and food-styling for film and TV - she returned home to the Texas Hill Country.
Chef Amy offers full-service catering, cooking classes and private chef services in and around the Austin area. She combines Classic Western European influences with California Fusion cuisine. She has a passion for creating ambiance and executing the vision for any occasion.
Amy specializes in sourcing products from local family-owned farms and vendors. She believes it is important to cook using the bountiful supply of fresh produce and organic meats that are local to the region surrounding Austin, and it surely shows in the quality and taste her food.

Green Mesquite BBQ has been serving BBQ since 1988. Our
first large catering was 500 people for the Austin Chronicle weekly soon after we opened. Our next big event was the Freedom Fest in Zilker park for even more people. We were on our way to offer Austin catering for large and small events.
We know we have an advantage that most other restaurants and caterers do not have. The advantage is that many of our employees, now close friends, have been working with us since 1988 and still do. Any event, big or small, is as important to us as it is to you!
